Signs of an OBE

"How can you know if you have had an OBE?

There are some signs. For instance, dreams with extreme clarity, especially those where you find yourself happily hanging out with a deceased loved one is a good example; those dreams you say “it was too real to be a dream,” are great candidates for OBE. A feeling you cannot move your body, called catalepsy or sleep paralysis, is another; in catalepsy, you, in your spirit body, are very close to the physical counterpart, close enough to feel its rigidity and coldness, but are not entirely coincided with it, thus the paralysis.

Falling is another sign that you have been out of your body. If you are falling, you are returning to it following a brief escape from matter after having had a glimpse of your own immortality.

Flying dreams are the most eloquent signs. If you are flying you are out. Flying dreams do not happen inside your head; it is you in your spirit body flying outside, either on the earth plane or the spiritual dimension. In my flying dreams, many of which I produce consciously upon  noticing that I am out of my body, I have seen the outside of my house as I returned to my body and the parking lot as I left it. During a hurricane in Miami a few years ago, I found myself flying outside in the middle of the night having a bird’s view of the damages.

These are just a couple of examples of the many flying dreams I have had which prove to me beyond the shadow of a doubt that flying dreams are not neuronal productions. When we dream that we are flying we are actually out of our body experiencing for a moment our physical independence."

What is an out-of-body experience?

Out-of-body experience (OBE), aka astral projection, astral travel, projection of consciousness etc

As the term implies, it is the experience of a person to leave the physical body momentarily and function independently of it.  Most commonly it happens in two circumstances: During sleep or when the body is deeply relaxed, and during a brush with death –NDE.  (NDE is the topic of my upcoming book The End of Death-How Near-death Experiences Prove the Afterlife) but will also discuss this extraordinary phenomenon later on in this blog.
I also consider it to be an OBE the experience of bodily death, but in this case it will be a permanent one, well, semi-permanent I should say, until our next incarnation.
A full-blown out-of-body experience is characterized by the following events: a generalized inner vibration called the Vibrational state in astral projection lingo; the Withdrawal of this vital energy starting at the toes, moving up and concentrating in the head; a feeling that this energy concentrated in the head wants to eject; the exit of this energy from the physical body culminating in an OBE proper; Awareness that one still has a body not unlike the physical counterpart, though of a subtle nature; and most importantly, that one’s entire cognitive abilities have been transferred to this new body. That is, when a person is conscious of being out of the physical body, she or he will notice that the locus of consciousness or field of thinking is no longer in the physical head or brain as it was before one’s exit from the physical body, but it is fully in the astral or spirit body.

Stay tuned for more on OBE, including signs that you’re having or have had one…
